Honoring a Fallen Chess Student!

We are doing two chess meetings this coming week....The first one will be held April 2, Sunday, 2 pm at 816 East Broadway (enter on the Logan street side). The other will be at the same location on April 7, 4 pm.

Bring a few extra dollars to help with food, snacks and drinks. We are looking to serve hot dogs, chips, water and soda, fruit and maybe a pizza or two. Please bring small bills.

I recently learned a chess student of mine died from a drug overdose. Some suspect suicide. Dope has destroyed the lives of so many of our clearly talented, artistic and brilliant stars...Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston- just to name a couple. Now I have to add to that list my beloved Janell.

So in her memory I am hosting a bughouse event this Friday, April 7, 4 pm. The top four teams each win special prizes. Janelle was a special soul. Leave that dope alone! It does nothing but consistently and faithfully bring upon you, and others, misery, misery and more misery.

Our next two club meetings are at 816 East Broadway on April 2, Sunday at 2 pm and April 7, Friday at 4 pm.
