About Us

The Kentucky Chess Ambassadors (KCA) is a 501(c) (3) non profit organization. It was founded in 2011 By Coach Corbin.

 

Coach Corbin currently serves as KCA's Executive Director, and chess instructor, recruiter and trainer. Coach Corbin has been teaching chess since 2010. 

 

The Kentucky Chess Ambassadors is the fiscal sponsor for the West Louisville Chess Club and the Queen Nzingha Warriors, Louisville's premier all-girls chess team. 

 

KCA's mission focus is helping build successful chess programs at Title One schools in Louisville, Kentucky. Title One schools are ones where the student population is predominately low-income, students of color. 

 

Coach Corbin distributes a collection of articles and essays on the benefits of chess in education. He emphatically believes chess, as a sport, presented through a solid chess program, can further enhance a student's critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and therefore his or her reading and math proficiency.
